To get the best application of your wallpaper, it’s fairly standard to use a primer on the wall first, much like you would prime a wall before painting. For wallpapering, this makes it easier to remove the wallpaper at a later date. Wallpaper can be applied to drywall, provided again that it’s been primed and sealed first. Some people will tell you that you can even apply new wallpaper to old wallpaper. We advise against that, as the adhesive will not stick as well. If the walls were primed properly prior to the application of the old wallpaper, that should come off quite easily with a warm water/vinegar solution. Let’s say your walls are textured.
